Regional Hospital Webinar Video Series

 

In this webinar series, Associate Professor Andrew Dean offers insights into staffing, workforce care and patient management in the context of a regional hospital facing COVID19 presentations in this pandemic. These recordings were taken during a live webinar held in March 2020 as a response to the need for information to assist regional hospitals prepare for treating COVID19 presentations.


Associate Professor Dean is a Senior Emergency Specialist doctor at St John of God Hospital, Ballarat, in a clinically active role in the emergency department since 1993.  In addition, he has worked in various roles including medical administration and for the last 20 years in the medical education of junior doctors, medical students, GPs, nurses and paramedics.  

He has been the Head of Rural Clinical School at St John of God Hospital Ballarat for final year medical students from the University of Notre Dame Australia, for the last 10 years.

His clinical interests include clinical risk management and quality, teaching using simulation, and developing our  resilience to ensure sustainability in stressful clinical environments.

Associate Professor Andrew Dean is also one of the consulting emergency specialist doctors at My Emergency Doctor, Australia’s first national on-demand telemedicine service exclusively staffed by emergency physicians. He has been working with My Emergency Doctor since 2019.
